Lag Ba'Omer (1984)

Lag Ba'Omer (1984) Dry Bones cartoon - .
Today's Golden Oldie is from May 18, 1984.

Today is the holiday of Lag Ba'Omer. It is as close to a peasant festival as it gets. Bonfires are lit all around the country with people singing and dancing and tossing wood to the hungry flames ...and a new generation of Israeli kids is on the scene to experience the excitement.

To understand the cartoon you have to know that back in 1984 we were worried about inflation and the falling value of the Shekel. Last night, the eve of Lag Ba'Omer, bonfires dotted the countryside, and this morning the air has the traditional smokey quality of the holiday.
